FRISCO — Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs has experienced many memorable moments this season.
One happened a few days ago.
About 15 friends and family members, all of whom are on a group chat with him and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs, were invited to a video call celebrating news of the brothers’ Pro Bowl selections.
The full Pro Bowl roster became public Wednesday evening. Trevon said he learned of his accolade Tuesday when agent Ryan Rubin notified him.
He basked in the honor with his brother and loved ones.
“We were just all on Face- Time,” Diggs said. “It was an exciting moment because that’s good stuff. That was real cool, probably one of my favorite moments of this year, for real, because that’s my brother. I love him to death. Just being able to go up there with him, that’s fire.”
The brothers have yet to meet in the NFL, this season being just Trevon’s second in the NFL. But that chance may come early next year. The Pro Bowl will be held in Las Vegas on Feb. 6. One week later, it’s the Super Bowl in Los Angeles.
Trevon and Stefon trained together this offseason in Florida.
Making the Pro Bowl together was not a stated goal.
Trevon earned the honor while recording an NFL-high 10 interceptions, tied with Mel Renfro for second-most in Cowboys history behind Everson Walls’ 11 in 1981. Stefon has caught 82 passes for 1,007 yards and eight touchdowns with three games to go.
“We never talked about it,” Trevon said. “We just worked. One thing he said is, ‘When we meet, we’re going to meet.’ We met. We’re at the Pro Bowl. It’s pretty cool, just being able to just put our heads down and work hard. Meet him at the Pro Bowl. It’s pretty cool.”
What if they meet at the Super Bowl instead?
“That would be cooler,” Trevon said with a laugh. “That would be cooler.”
