Arteta spoke in the build-up to the Forest tie about Smith Rowe’s recent absence from the team, revealing fitness had been more of a factor than form. “He’s been carrying an issue, and that hasn’t allowed him to train regularly, to play regularly, and that was the main reason,” said Arteta. “Because in his performances, and what he did before that international break – there is no question that he was one of our more important and consistent players.”
Granit Xhaka and Folarin Balogun are absent after testing positive for COVID-19, while Takehiro Tomiyasu has a calf problem.
