Graduate Christian Banke and the Arizona Men’s Golf team won the Arizona Intercollegiate individual and team titles by one shot
TUCSON (KVOA) — Christian Banke shot 14-under par to lead Arizona Men’s Golf’s to a fifth straight win in their home-opening Intercollegiate tournament.
Banke won the individual championship by one shot over New Mexico’s Sam Choi. It’s his first collegiate championship. His best finish last season, his 1st at UA, was 17th.
UA as a team bested the Lobos by that same one stroke, finishing 35-under as a team at Tucson Country Club.
The Arizona Intercollegiate was the first individual tournament victory for UA graduate transfer Christian Banke
Arkansas finished third, followed by Brigham Young and Loyola Marymount.
Next up for Arizona is the the John Burns Intercollegiate in Lihue, Hawai’i beginning February 17.
