MONROE, La. – ULM junior tennis player Hala Badwy was named Sun Belt Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week Wednesday morning, as announced by the conference office.
Badwy is the first Warhawk to earn the weekly honor since Karolina Snita on April 11, 2018.
Badwy opened the spring dual season with a dominating performance, sweeping Grambling’s Brittney Combest, 6-0, 6-1, in No. 1 singles. She paired with newcomer Alessandra Anghel at No. 1 doubles for a 6-3 win over Grambling’s Lungile Ntuli and Claire Machisa. ULM picked up a 6-1 win in the first dual for new head coach Abdelrahman Zaki.
The Warhawks are back in action at 10 a.m. Friday at Houston.
