The 2022 NASCAR season is almost here and many are looking forward to it. Among them is reigning Cup Series champion Kyle Larson, who is getting rather impatient. The driver has confessed that he is eager to hop in the car and go racing once again. Admittedly, he has not been idle, because he competed in the Chili Bowl Nationals earlier this month.

Speaking about his need for racing, Larson said, “After five or six weeks of not racing, I’m like, ‘I want to race. Screw the offseason.’ [My wife] Katelyn likes it, likes the normal lifestyle of having the holidays at home and with the family and stuff like that. But that’s not normal to me.”
According to him, a couple of weeks of downtime is alright. Had he been asked this in the middle of the winter break, Larson would have actually been enjoying himself. God forbid what he would be like when he decides to retire in the distant future.

What did Kyle Larson like about the break?
The Hendrick Motorsports star confessed that there are some advantages of being at home. Though, when he competed at the Chili Bowl midget nationals, that was when he knew that it was time to dust off the cobwebs. The Asian-American driver acknowledged that it was good to be at home for a bit and just relax, but he is still glad that the racing season will be back soon.
Now, he will be keen to get back in his #5 Hendrick Motorsports car next weekend at the LA Coliseum. This will be the first time he and his contemporaries are tackling the track, and they are in new cars to boot. So, there are two schools of thought here; either the drivers go all out and try to be the first to win there. Or, they could take it easy and not bang up the Next Gen cars too much, and waste spare parts.
