WAIMEA, Hawai’i – The Oregon State men’s golf team finished with a 1-over par-289 mark in the first day of action at the Amer Ari Invitational on Thursday.
The tournament is being held at the par-72, 6,875-yard Hapuna Golf Course. Days two and three of action are set for Friday and Saturday, respectively, with 18 holes set for each round. Action gets underway via a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. PT (7:30 a.m. in Hawai’i).
OSU, which ended the day 15th among 19 teams in Hawai’i, was led by Carson Barry, who finished with a 1-under-71. He will head into day two’s action tied for 50th after recording birdies at holes 3, 10 and 14.
Barry was followed close behind by teammate Nolan Thoroughgood, who is just one shot behind after finishing at par. He’s tied for 60th and recorded birdies at 3, 7, 8 and 9.
Brandon Eyre posted four birdies as well, and finished at par at 72. He netted birdies at 2, 3, 9, 10 and 14. He will head into day two action also tied for 60th.
Jackson Lake ended the day tied at 77th, each finishing with a 2-over-74. Lake connected on birdies at 6, 14 and 15.
Mateo Fuenmayor competed in the No. 3 spot for the Beavers and is tied for 88th after day one via a 3-over-75. He birdied holes 1, 10 and 11.
Carson Enright, competing as an individual, also finished in a tied for 87th at 3-over-75. He tallied birdies at 11, 13 and 14.
