The Buffalo Sabres have assigned goaltender Michael Houser to the Rochester Americans, the team announced Thursday.
Houser, who began the season on an AHL contract, signed a one-year deal with the Sabres on Jan. 12 with fellow goaltenders Craig Anderson, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, Malcom Subban, and Dustin Tokarski sidelined due to injuries or illness.
Houser started two games for the Sabres before entering COVID-19 protocol last Friday. Anderson and Tokarski have since returned for Buffalo.
Rochester hosts Charlotte on Friday and plays at Toronto on Saturday. Houser is 5-4-0 with a .900 save percentage in 11 games with the Amerks this season.
