THE FIRST SERVE
• Hoping to put an end to a two-match losing skid, the NM State men’s tennis team heads to Tucosn, Ariz., for a pair of dual matches against one of the nation’s best. NM State and 16th-ranked Arizona are set to go toe-to-toe twice Sunday at the Lanelle Robson Tennis Center.
• Gijs Akkermans and Corey Clarke are the reigning WAC Doubles Team of the Week after going 2-1 in the Aggies’ first four matches.
• Jordy Visser has started the season strong in singles play, going 2-1 in one-on-one action.
• In doubles play, Visser and Menard have gone 2-1 over the Aggies’ first four matches, too.

• With a big 4-3 win over third-ranked Texas on their ledger already, the Wildcats are hoping to add more wins to their total in 2022.
• Colton Smith (5-1), Gustaf Strom (4-1) and Filip Malbasic (4-1) have all enjoyed some great starts to 2022 in singles action. Collectively, Arizona is 32-12 (.727) in one-on-one play.
• Smith has teamed with Carlos Hassey to form Arizona’s best doubles team. That pairing is 6-2 while the Wildcats are 16-7 in doubles action.
COMING UP NEXT
• Lubbock, Texas, is the Aggies’ destination as they head to the Lone Star State for a pair of matches. NM State and Louisiana will battle in Lubbock Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. before the Aggies take on Texas Tech Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
