Sri Lanka Tour Of India 2022 To Begin With T20Is – Reports
According to a report in Cricbuzz, the series between India and Sri Lanka will be played in reverse order and instead of Tests the series will begin with T20Is.
The T20I series will begin in Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) will be hosting the first T20I on February 24. The second and third T20I will be played on February 26 and 27 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala.
Also, after the last T20I match in Dharamshala, the hosts and tourists will move to Punjab for the Test series. The first Test match of the series will be played in Mohali from March 3 to 7, which will be Virat Kohli’s 100th Test match.
Notably, Virat Kohli was set to play his 100th Test in the South Africa tour at the Newlands, Cape Town, but he got ruled out of the second Test of the three-match Test series, which resulted in Cape Town hosting Virat Kohli’s 99th Test game instead of 100th.
Also, the second Test will be played in Bengaluru from March 12 to 16. However, there is no confirmation whether the second Test will be a day-night contest.
“We don’t know if it is a day-night Test. All we know is it will be from March 12 to 16,” a KSCA official said, stating that the association is waiting for a formal communication from the BCCI.
