UTSA is coming off a tie for ninth place at the Border Olympics in its spring season opener in Laredo, Texas. Christian Fanfelle grabbed a share of 16th with a 4-over-par 220 (72-74-74) to lead the way.
Fanfelle paces the Roadrunners with a 72.07 stroke average this season, while Michael Rome is close behind with a 72.87 mark. That duo joins Hunter Bott with a pair of top-10 finishes in 2020-21 to lead the squad. In fact, Bott and Rome shared medalist honors to guide UTSA to the team title at the Lone Star Invitational last September at TPC San Antonio.
UTSA last competed in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in 2009, finishing in a tie for 14th at the Classic Club in Palm Desert. That also marked the last appearance in the Golden State for Roadrunners.
