WACO – UNT Tennis is headed to Waco to face No. 20 Baylor at 11:00 A.M. on Sunday.
UNT (8-3) is coming off a pair of home matches resulting in a split, a 4-2 win over Marshall and a 4-1 loss against FIU. Freshman Liisa Vehvilainen won both of her singles matches including the Mean Green’s only point against FIU.
“This season has been about growth mindset,” head coach Sujay Lama said. “With each match we are learning and improving. We have a great opportunity to play another highly ranked team on the road and to learn more about ourselves. It gives us a chance to raise our level and we are looking forward to it.”
No. 20 Baylor is 7-4 on the season after falling to Central Florida 4-0 last weekend and went 4-0 against Rice on Wednesday. The Bears lineup includes No. 1 ranked doubles pair Alicia Herrero Linana and Melany Krywoj as well as No. 122 ranked singles player Alina Shcherbinina.
