The University of Minnesota women’s golf team will compete in the Valspar Augusta Invitational starting on Saturday morning in Georgia. The two-day event will be played on Saturday and Sunday at the Forest Hills course at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
The tournament will be played as a 54-hole invitational format. The teams will play 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday. The course is set at 7,140 yards with a par 72. There will be a shotgun start on Saturday at 8 a.m. and a shotgun start on Sunday at 9 a.m.

LINEUP
The Gophers will send out a lineup of junior Leah Herzog, junior Grace Curran, senior Joanne Free, junior Emma Carpenter and senior Geraldine Wong.
THE FIELD
The tournament will feature a total of 16 teams, including many top-50 ranked programs. Joining the Gophers will be No. 4 South Carolina, No. 9 Alabama, No. 14 Florida State, No. 23 Virginia Tech, No. 25 Ole Miss, No. 38 Purdue, No. 41 Miami, No. 45 Furman, Augusta, Tennessee, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, South Florida, Memphis and San Diego State.
THE COURSE
Augusta University’s Forest Hills course offers both a challenge and an opportunity to walk with history. It was originally designed by renowned course architect Donald Ross, and has delighted since 1926. It was renovated in 2003 by the Arnold Palmer Company.
LOOKING AHEAD
Following the Valspar Augusta Invitational, the Gophers will travel to Kiawah Island, S.C. for the Briar’s Creek Invitational on Monday, March 14 and Tuesday, March 15.
