MONROE, La. – The ULM women’s golf team opens play in the three-day Bama Beach Bash on Sunday at the Gulf Shores Golf Club in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
The Gulf Shores Golf Club is a 6,002 yard par-72 layout. Seventeen schools are participating in the event, including Sun Belt Conference schools Little Rock, Georgia State, UT Arlington, Texas State, Troy and host South Alabama.
The Warhawk lineup is set to include sophomore Alessia Mengoni, sophomore Line Petersen, sophomore Charlotte Fourdraine, junior Chantal Dueringer and senior Jahaanvie Walia.
The Warhawks used the same five players in the lineup at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, where they finished fourth on March 7-8 at Hoakalei Country Club.
Mengoni tied for third at 3-over-par 219 (70-75-74), which marked the best finish of her career. It was her third Top-10 performance of her career. She had an eagle, seven birdies and a team-high 36 pars in the tournament.
Petersen tied for 20th at 11-over-par 227 (76-75-76). She had five birdies and 13 pars in the event.
Fourdraine tied for 22nd at 12-over-par 228 (77-76-75) after she moved up five spots in the tournament’s final round. She had five birdies with 35 pars.
Dueringer shot a 234, posting six birdies and 30 pars. Walia shot a 233, setting the team lead with eight birdies while adding 27 pars.
