In the meantime, let’s take a look at several NHL games receiving sharp action from respected bettors tonight…
7 p.m. ET: Winnipeg Jets (32-25-10) at Buffalo Sabres (23-33-10)
This non-conference showdown features a pair of teams playing well as of late. The Jets have won two straight, are 8-3 over their last 10 games and just edged the Coyotes 2-1, cashing as -275 home favorites. Meanwhile, the Sabres are 6-3 over their last nine games and just overcame a 4-0 deficit to shock the Blackhawks 6-5 as +145 road dogs. This line opened with Winnipeg listed as a -140 road favorite and Buffalo a +120 home dog. Respected money has laid the chalk with Winnipeg, steaming the Jets up from -140 to -160. Favorites off a win are 389-202 (66%) this season. The Jets also enjoy a rest advantage, having last played on Sunday while the Sabres played on Monday. Winnipeg is 20-15 as a favorite this season. Buffalo is 22-41 as a dog. We could be looking at a higher scoring game as well. The total opened at 6 and has been bet up to 6.5 at some shops.
10 p.m. ET: St. Louis Blues (36-20-9) at Vancouver Canucks (32-27-9)
These Western Conference foes are fighting for a playoff berth and also playing for the second time in three games. The Blues just beat the Canucks 4-1 on Monday, cashing as -160 home favorites. In tonight’s rematch, the Blues opened as a short -120 road favorite and the Canucks a +100 home dog. Wiseguys have gotten down hard on Vancouver to bounce back with a win, flipping the Canucks from a +100 dog to -115 home favorite. Home favorites with a line move in their favor are 247-115 (68%) this season. Conference home favorites are 251-125 (67%). Vancouver is 11-10 as a favorite this season. St. Louis is 9-12 as a dog.
10 p.m. ET: San Jose Sharks (29-28-8) at Arizona Coyotes (20-41-5)
Both of these Western Conference foes are on the outside looking in when it comes to the postseason. The Sharks are 3-1 over their last four games and just beat the Ducks 4-1, cashing as -135 home favorites. Meanwhile, the Coyotes have lost six straight games and just got spanked by the Oilers 6-1, losing as +325 road dogs. This line opened with San Jose listed as a -140 road favorite and Arizona a +125 home dog. Pro money has poured in on the Sharks, driving San Jose up from -140 to -160. The Sharks have a notable rest advantage, having last played on Saturday while the Coyotes last played Monday. Rested favorites (3 days between games or more) coming off a win are 132-61 (68%) this season. When two teams face off who both missed the playoffs the previous season, the favorite is 141-70 (67%). The Sharks are 11-5 as a favorite. The Coyotes are 19-45 as a dog. The total is 6 with the under juiced to -120, signaling a lean to a lower scoring game.
