The latest NFL news and rumors from around the league focus heavily on 2022 NFL Draft prospects and their top-30 visits.
NFL News and Rumors: Kaiir Elam visiting Texans
University of Florida cornerback Kaiir Elam is visiting the Houston Texans on Tuesday, according to PFN’s Aaron Wilson. The Texans are also hosting Cincinnati cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner for a visit. Elam is a long, athletic corner at 6-foot-1 1/2, 199 pounds with 4.39 speed in the 40-yard dash, and he could be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Elam is the son of former NFL safety Abram Elam, who played for the Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, and Kansas City Chiefs.
Abram Elam recorded 408 career tackles, 5 sacks, and 3 interceptions. Elam’s uncle, Matt Elam, is a former Florida standout safety and Baltimore Ravens first-round draft pick.

Kayvon Thibodeaux visiting Lions, Jets, Giants, Texans, others
Oregon pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux, an elite NFL Draft prospect, is in heavy demand. Thibodeaux has visits with the Detroit Lions, New York Jets, New York Giants, Houston Texans, and Philadelphia Eagles. The Atlanta Falcons are also expected to visit with Thibodeaux on the West Coast this month.
The ultra-athletic LA native recorded 126 career tackles, 19 sacks, and 35.5 tackles for loss in three seasons for Oregon.
“The most ridiculous thing I’ve heard is that I’m not the best player in this draft,” Thibodeaux told reporters at the Oregon Pro Day workout. “I really don’t listen to anything else, but that to me, that’s outrageous. With the film, with the numbers and what I can do, as far as my ability, I have confidence in what I can do.”
Thibodeaux validated what the film shows — rare athleticism and ability to contort his body and convert speed to power.

LSU running back Tyrion Davis-Price to visit Jaguars, Commanders, and Panthers
Hard-nosed LSU running back Tyrion Davis-Price, one of the most physical runners in the 2022 NFL Draft, has a busy schedule. He has visits lined up with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington Commanders, and the Carolina Panthers, sources tell PFN’s Aaron Wilson. He is set to meet with the Houston Texans prior to the LSU Pro Day on Wednesday.
At the LSU Pro Day, Davis-Price is expected to do drill work and stand on his 40-yard dash time from the NFL Scouting Combine.
Davis-Price declared early after rushing for a team-high 1,003 yards and 6 touchdowns. The Baton Rouge native set a school record with 287 rushing yards against LSU with 3 touchdown runs.
The LSU running back has outstanding size, vision, and power, breaking tackles routinely. He’s a bruising runner who can catch the football out of the backfield and excels in pass protection.

NFL News and Rumors: Tyrann Mathieu visiting New Orleans Saints
Tyrann Mathieu was incredibly valuable for the Kansas City Chiefs as a hard-hitting, rangy safety capable of playing multiple positions. However, it’s been a slow market for the former Pro Bowl selection. That’s starting to heat up a bit. Mathieu is visiting his hometown New Orleans Saints on Tuesday.
Now that his three-year, $42 million contract has expired, Mathieu is looking for a new team. His exit from Kansas City was always expected, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly, one year after contract discussions didn’t result in an extension. The two sides weren’t on the same page in terms of financial expectations.
The Chiefs’ safety position is also in good hands with Juan Thornhill and the recently signed Justin Reid. Mathieu, 29, is an incredibly productive team leader who earned the team’s Most Valuable Player award for the second time. However, other safeties like Marcus Williams with the Baltimore Ravens and Quandre Diggs with the Seattle Seahawks have cashed in.

Baylor corner Kalon “Boogie” Barnes visiting Seahawks, Raiders, Vikings, and more
Baylor cornerback Kalon “Boogie” Barnes, the fastest 2022 NFL Draft prospect on either side of the football, has visits lined up with the Seattle Seahawks, Las Vegas Raiders, and Minnesota Vikings, according to league sources. He will also have Zoom meetings with the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Chargers. He has met with the New Orleans Saints, as has Baylor teammate Tyquan Thornton. Barnes met with the Tennessee Titans prior to the Baylor Pro Day workout.
Barnes became the fastest defensive back in the history of the NFL Scouting Combine since 2003. He clocked a 4.23 in the 40-yard dash for the best time this year, marking the second-fastest time in NFL Combine history — one one-hundredth of a second shy of tying NFL wide receiver John Ross’ 4.22 time five years ago.
“When it actually happened, I knew it would be a fast time,” Barnes said in a recent telephone interview. “Seeing the 4.2, that’s what I’ve been striving for, trying to get that time. When I was 4.23 and that it was setting a record, it was fun to see. It was exciting. I knew I was going to run a fast time, but actually doing it after putting the work into it the last few months felt good. Most people say I’m a track guy, but I’m trying to show I’m a football guy.”

Will Tyler Linderbaum and Treylon Burks fall out of Round 1?
As March turns to April and the 2022 NFL Draft sharpens into focus, rumors regarding the top prospects will come through thick and fast. According to Pro Football Network Draft Analyst Tony Pauline, one such rumor centers around Tyler Linderbaum and Treylon Burks. Once considered top-15 prospects, both could fall out of Round 1 at the end of the month.
Speaking during the March 29 episode of Draft Insiders (which you can catch every Tuesday night at 8 PM ET on PFN’s YouTube Channel), Pauline addressed rumors that both highly regarded NFL Draft prospects could find themselves slipping down draft boards once Roger Goodell puts the Jacksonville Jaguars on the clock in Las Vegas.
“Tyler Linderbaum is a guy who a lot of people thought could go in the top 10,” Pauline told PFN Analyst Trey Wingo. “There’s a real possibility that Linderbaum falls out of the first round. Burks, who people were talking about as a top-15 pick, might eventually fall out of the first round.”
