For the first time since January 2021, Ryan Garcia will enter a boxing ring. On April 9 inside The Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, “KingRy” faces Emmanuel Tagoe in a catchweight bout. One of the top names in the lightweight division, Garcia is ready to remind everyone just how dangerous he can be.
Garcia’s last fight was in Texas against Luke Campbell. In April 2021 he was supposed to fight Javier Fortuna but ended up not fighting to work on his mental health. Set to return this past November, Garcia would undergo hand surgery. Fans in the U.S. have been mixed when it comes to Garcia, but outside of the U.S. is where he is just starting to grow.
Moving on from training with Canelo Alvarez and Eddy Reynoso, Garcia is working with Joe Goossen, who has trained the likes of Gabriel and Rafael Ruelas, Amir Khan, and Shane Mosley. Will that help or hinder the man with the fast hands?
