CHAPEL HILL – The North Carolina women’s tennis team will host its final two regular season home matches of the 2022 season this weekend from Chapel Hill Tennis Club. The top-ranked Tar Heels welcome No. 57 Clemson on Friday at 3 p.m. and No. 31 Georgia Tech on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Sunday serves as Senior Day for the program, who will honor Cameron Morra and Alle Sanford with a ceremony before the match with the Yellow Jackets. As part of the festivities, free food and prize raffles will take place on Sunday for all patrons in attendance.
Carolina remains the lone unbeaten team in Division I women’s tennis this spring with a perfect 21-0 overall record and a 10-0 mark in the ACC. A victory over the Tigers on Friday would guarantee a share of the regular-season ACC title for the fourth year in a row and the 11th time in the last 13 seasons.
The Tar Heels feature five ranked singles players this week – No. 8 Morra, No. 18 Elizabeth Scotty, No. 24 Reilly Tran, No. 37 Fiona Crawley and No. 44 Carson Tanguilig.
Crawley and Scotty continue their reign at No. 1 in the doubles rankings, while Sanford and Tran are No. 52.
Clemson (10-9) boasts No. 107 Cristina Mayorova and the No. 61 doubles team of Samantha Buyckx and Ali DeSpain.
Georgia Tech (12-6) has a pair of ranked singles players – No. 60 Carol Lee and No. 85 Kylie Bilchev – and the No. 6 doubles tandem of Lee and Kate Sharabura and No. 27 Bilchev and Ava Hrastar.
The Tar Heels will close out the regular season at No. 10 Duke on Friday, April 15.
