Hawks strong bench play
Growing story in this series: The team with the on-paper bench advantage and the likely Sixth Man of the Year is losing the bench minutes.
Hawks again going on a mini-run with Trae Young resting, again behind strong play from Bogdan Bogdanovic, Onyeka Okongwu, and Delon Wright.

Make-or-miss not with Miami
Heat run a sweet three-man game to get a wide open corner 3 for Tyler Herro that misses. Hawks get a zero-penetration possession that ends with a Delon Wright heave at the shot-clock buzzer … and it banks in for three points.
Make-or-miss gods not on Miami’s side here in the second quarter.

Onyeka Okongwu D
A couple of excellent defensive moments for Onyeka Okongwu so far.
Had a huge block against Jimmy Butler at the rim and just now rotated perfectly to contest a Bam Adebayo hook shot.

Hawks lead 26-25 after 1st quarter
A first quarter with 25 3-point attempts (!) ends with Atlanta leading 26-25. Hawks have tried 15 triples and just five 2s. Heat once again getting some good looks from three but have only have cashed in three of their ten attempts.

Heat dominating on the glass (Hawks 23, Heat 22)
Not a great sign for the Hawks in the early going that the Heat have six offensive rebounds and 0 turnovers with just over two minutes to go in the first quarter.

Caleb Martin checks in
As suspected, Caleb Martin enters the game as the 8th player in Miami’s rotation, indirectly in place of the injured Kyle Lowry.
He didn’t play in Game 3 but was a major factor in Game 2 when he replaced an ineffective Duncan Robinson.

Bam Adebayo struggling
Not sure how much Bam Adebayo’s quad is holding him back, but his offensive struggles this series are beginning to become a story.
Missed a transition chippy just now and leaves the court 1-for-3 in his first eight minutes.

Full Steph playoff minutes
Steph Curry played 37 minutes tonight. Minutes restriction basically lifted. It feels like a near guarantee he will return to the starting lineup in Game 5 on Wednesday in SF.

Warriors outshot Nuggets in defeat
The Warriors took 13 more shots than the Nuggets but made just two more baskets. Denver shot the lights out against the sketchy Warriors defense.

That’s someone who looked at film, and knew what GS was going to run before the play started. Great awareness from Austin Rivers.

Nuggets turnover (Nuggets 123, Warriors 121)
Odd ATO from the Warriors at the wrong time. Otto Porter attempted lob over the top to Andrew Wiggins, broken up by Austin Rivers. Nuggets up two with 22 seconds left.

Jokic on Curry
Nikola Jokic tried to defend Steph Curry with his hands on that switch. Seemed like he was unsure the whole time and didn’t stand a chance. Curry probably thought so too.
