Tunstall girls’ soccer team played against Dan River to start off their week on Monday, April 25. The team lost after a tough game 1-2; however, they had a big win on Thursday, April 28 against Bassett winning 6-3.
On Monday afternoon, the girls’ team had a very close came losing 1-2. Junior Emma Dowdy had 3 saves and junior Kaley Fry had seven saves that really advanced the game.
After a really tough game, junior Britt Bowman scored the only goal scored during the game with an assist from senior Sofia Miller.
Later in the week, the girls’ team played against Bassett with a great win. Goalie, junior Emma Dowdy, progressed the game by having eight saves. Junior Kaley Fry had one save during the game.
Junior Britt Bowman made another huge impact scoring three goals with two assisted by Miller and Fry, and one being unassisted. Freshman Valeria Rameriz scored one goal assisted by Bowman.
Junior Hayden Wentz scored two goals with both assisted by Miller.
The girls’ varsity soccer team will be playing against Magna Vista at home on Tuesday, May 3 at 6 p.m.
Boys’ soccer
The Tunstall boys’ soccer team played against the Dan River Wildcats earlier in the week on Monday, April 25. The team came out in success winning 7-0.
Senior Brandon Hill made a good, huge impact toward the game scoring four goals during the game. Junior Braeden Barber, junior Luis Garcia, and freshman Jadon Hawker made a single goal each.
On Thursday night, April 28, the Trojans ended with a tie 2-2 against Bassett. One goal was scored by senior Brandon Hill and junior JP Alamos.
The boys’ varsity soccer team will be traveling to compete against Magna Vista on Tuesday, May 3 at 7 p.m.
