Nasty weather conditions at TPC Potomac has created a lot of difficulty for golfers at the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship. Couple that with a new course — this Tour stop is normally played at Quail Hollow Club — and the results have been unpredictable from day to day. Jason Day held the lead through the first two rounds, but a rough Saturday resulted in him falling off the pace. A 3-under par performance from Keegan Bradley in Round 3 gives the American a two-stroke lead heading into the final 18 holes, but the pack is crowded with lots of opportunities for a late push to change the leaderboard.
Max Homa, Anirban Lahiri and Rory McIlroy — who recovered nicely from a slow start — are all still within reach, though McIlroy, by his own admission, is a bit of a long shot at six shots back from the lead. In any case, the unpredictable nature of this tournament should lead to an exciting finish on Sunday.
