The Match is back in 2022, and this time, the event is going all-in on the NFL quarterbacks.
In the past, The Match has featured established golfers that are either playing solo against another or are teamed up with an athlete. In 2022, it will be Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers teaming up against Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes.
This will be the third appearance in The Match for Brady, who has twice paired up with Phil Mickelson, and it will be the second appearance for Rodgers, who beat Brady and Mickelson in 2021 when he was teamed up with Bryson DeChambeau.

Here’s everything you need to know about the event, including how to watch it, previous results and whether the four are as good on the course as they are under center.

Is Tom Brady good at golf?
Brady has had his moments on the golf course, but based on handicaps, he’s the second-worst golfer in the field. Brady played with an 8.1 handicap before “The Match” in 2021, when he was paired with Mickelson.
But he has had his moments. A drone captured a shot of him sinking a hole-in-one out on the course in May.

And then Tom Brady does that.

Is Aaron Rodgers good at golf?
Rodgers appears to be the best golfer in the group. According to the Wisconsin State Golf Association, Rodgers plays with a 4.6 handicap, the lowest in the field.
And the back-to-back NFL MVP is already busting out the trash talk against Allen and Mahomes.
“Charles, I’ve done my scouting report and I heard that Josh was terrible in Pebble (Beach) and Pat has played the last couple of years in Tahoe and hasn’t broken 80 yet,” Rodgers told Barkley in an interview with “Inside the NBA.” “I think he was closer to being in a group with you — no offense, Charles — than maybe with me in Tahoe. I feel really good about our chances.”
Last year, when Rodgers and DeChambeau teamed up against Mickelson and Brady, it was this birdie putt that sealed the win for the Packers’ QB and the 2020 U.S. Open winner.

Is Josh Allen good at golf?
Based on handicaps, Allen is the worst golfer of the bunch. At the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2022, Allen had a handicap of 9.0, meaning he is about a stroke worse than Brady and nearly 4.5 strokes worse than Rodgers.
Allen and his partner at the pro-am, Kevin Mitchell, finished four strokes below the 19 under cut line and were eliminated.
Allen told USA Today’s Mackenzie Salmon that he wasn’t happy with his performance in the tournament, but explained he also hadn’t taken any golf swings since late July.
“It wasn’t very good. I had a great time, I will say that. Met some really great people,” Allen told Salmon. “I’m so competitive that I was just so frustrated the whole week and not playing well. But to look out and see the beach and see the water, and it being 70 degrees at 10 o’clock in the morning with the sun shining down on my face, it was hard to be mad.”
Is Patrick Mahomes good at golf?
Mahomes finds himself in the middle of the field. According to Golf.com, Mahomes has a handicap of 7.7, placing him a bit better than Brady, but still a bit back of Rodgers.
The Chiefs QB is already expressing confidence in the pairing with Allen. He believes the young, strong-armed quarterbacks are going to take advantage of some of the longer holes with their driving ability.
“The reason we’re going to win is that we’re going to be able to play the course differently than old Tom and old Aaron over there,” Mahomes said, according to ESPN. “They might get us on a couple of par 3s and stuff like that but whenever we can really open it up and use the drivers . . . it’s going to be nice to be able to use our little wedges like they use their 6-irons.”
There is no doubt that Mahomes can let it fly with the driver. He put that on display in 2019 at a trip to TopGolf.
