The first of two 36-hole Junior Series Championships hosted by the NOPGA was contested at Ashland Country Club in Ashland as youth golfers compete for the opportunity to play at the Notah Begay III Jr. National Championship.
In the boys 16-to-19 age division were Dylan Dunn of Stow, champion, and Dillon Pendergast of Mogadore, third place.
Grace Vidovic of Aurora earned the runner-up spot in the girls’ 11-to-15 age division.
Following the conclusion of the two 36-hole Junior Series Championships, the second at Windmill Golf Club in Ravenna on July 13-14, junior golfers advancing to the national event will be announced.
Fox Den hosts U.S. Kids Tournament
Mason Dillon of Rootstown finished in third place at the U.S. Kids tourney at Fox Den in Stow.
Dillon fired a 5-over par 42 in the boys’ age 9 division.
Nicholas Pollak of Aurora tied for second place in the boys age 11 division, finishing 18 holes at 10-over 82.
In the boys’ 13-14 division, Jacob Rainieri of Mogadore was fifth, turning in a scorecard at 8-over 80.
