RAJKOT: All the preparations are done at Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) stadium in Rajkot which is going to host India-South Africa 4th T20I on Friday. Rajkot district collector Arun Mahesh Babu and Rajkot superintendent of police Jaypal Singh Rathor personally visited the ground on Thursday to see all the preparation.
Both the teams had arrived in Rajkot on Wednesday evening and on Thursday they did net practice on the ground. Babu and Rathor held a meeting with the office bearers of SCA and also verified all the management on the ground like fire safety, power connectivity, parking, traffic management, entry and exit point etc.
They also reviewed the crowd management planning and also asked SCA people to strictly follow the covid guidelines. The private agencies engaged in management work asked to see that spectators don’t face any difficulties. However, according to the weather department there are chances of rain on Friday which may create obstacles in the match.
The 430 police personnel will be deputed for the safety and security inside and outside the ground. The ground capacity is 30,000 and it’s expected that it will be filled 100 percent.
The SCA stadium is located on Rajkot-Jamnagar highway and because of the match heavy vehicles are not allowed between Rajkot and Padaddhri on national highway from 4pm on Thursday till the end of match. According to a notification issued by the police the heavy vehicles will be diverted on Friday from 4pm to 1am.
The vehicles coming from Ahmedabad and Bhavangar and want to go towards Jamnagar will have to take Mitana-Tankara road. The vehicles coming from Porbandar and Junagadh will be diverted to Mitana-Tankara road via Madhapar chokdi from Ghanteshwar tea point. The heavy vehicles won’t be allowed to cross Madhapar chokdi.
