Manchester United are working towards their first signing under Erik ten Hag.
Following a dismal season in the Premier League and beyond, United have turned to Ten Hag to recapture former glories and the Dutchman wants to sign five players during the summer transfer window. Ajax starlet Jurrien Timber and Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona are among his top targets.
Beyond that, free agent Christian Eriksen is on the radar, but United face competition there from Brentford, where the Dane spent six months last season, and his former club Tottenham. Antony is also being pursued from Ajax and United want a back-up goalkeeper to replace Nottingham Forest-bound Dean Henderson.
Elsewhere in the Premier League scene, neighbours Manchester City are closing in on signing Kalvin Phillips. United had put the initial framework in for a swoop for him before Ten Hag took charge.
