If we play positive cricket we are definitely in with a shout – Neser

    June 29, 2022No Comments

Overseas batter Colin Ingram hit his second century in two matches in the LV= Insurance County Championship to keep Glamorgan in the hunt to chase down a 332 target against Worcestershire at New Road.

Ingram was finally dismissed shortly before the close for a magnificent 102 from 203 balls in a knock that contained 13 boundaries.

Earlier in the day, the Welsh county had dismissed the home side for 199 with seamer Michael Neser once again staring with the ball as he recorded match figures of 7-90 to take his tally for the campaign to 32.

Heading into the final day, Glamorgan are 232/5, requiring 100 to win with Billy Root (46*) and James Harris (1*) the overnight not out batters.

“It is very interesting, both teams are in it so it is anyone’s game tomorrow,” said Michael Neser. “If we play positive cricket we are definitely in with a shout.

“It was a great knock from Colin Ingram. He has been batting well all year and that definitely got us back into the game.

“If we look to score tomorrow and put them on the back foot, we are in with a chance of winning.

“The pitch has been a hard one to gauge because in patches it has done quite a lot. With the new ball that is the case but when it gets a bit softer, the runs can flow.

“For me, it has been great to bowl on this wicket which has quite a lot of bounce.”
