Manny Pacquiao and Gennadiy Golovkin made public appearances lately, and talk immediately spiked.
Fans and media noticed a distinct difference in the pair from previous years.
For Golovkin, ahead of his trilogy with Canelo Alvarez, the Kazakh warrior is showing obvious signs of aging. Recently turning 40, ‘GGG’ may be on the last leg of his boxing career.
At the same time, Pacquiao made an appearance at FC Barcelona on the famous hallowed turf at the Camp Nou. After one year out of the ring following retirement, Pacquiao is noticeably bulkier and more facially older than his usual babyfaced self.

It’s the end of an era for the sport where Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Gennadiy Golovkin, and more will soon be legendary names in the Hall of Fame.
Lately, retirements have come thick and fast. Amir Khan, Mikey Garcia, and Tyson Fury stated they no longer wish to fight.
However, Fury reversed his for the umpteenth time and will get back to action soon.
Nonito Donaire, at 39, may soon follow by hanging up his gloves, with a spate of top stars now 35 or over.
Oleksandr Usyk [35], Deontay Wilder [36], Mairis Briedis [37], and Artur Beterbiev [37] will all be considering a new career path over the next three to four years.
New Generation
A new wave of young, hungry fighters are on the rise, like Shakur Stevenson [25], Bam Rodriguez [22], Devin Haney [23], Jaron Ennis [25], Jaime Munguia [25], and Teofimo Lopez [24] will drive boxing into the latter part of the 2020s.
At heavyweight, a division known for older fighters making waves, the up-and-coming stars have had to be patient. However, their time will come soon.
Jared Anderson [22] and Bakhodir Jalolov [27] are just two of the expected future world champions at 200 pounds and above.
Gennadiy Golovkin and Manny Pacquiao gave boxing some of the best match-ups and performances during their tenure. The fact that one is still competing at the highest level and the other gets linked to another comeback at 43 is a mere testament to them.
But times change, boxing certainly moves on, and we are one hundred percent seeing a changing of the guard in our lifetime.
