Josh Allen is already one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but the Buffalo Bills star knows there is still room for improvement for him. Luckily for fans, the 26-year-old is working hard on it.
During the Bills’ offseason workouts, Allen apparently opened up about the two things he’s working on to improve next season. Aside from reducing his turnovers, he shared that he’s looking to get better when it comes to his ball placement in order to allow his receivers to run with the ball and gain more yards after catching his pass.
“Main thing is still limiting turnovers, limiting bad decisions. And then ball placement on some of the underneath routes, allowing the guys to get more YAC. Last year, I don’t think we were very good in that department. So it’s kind of on me to put the ball where it needs to be and allow our guys to utilize their legs and run after catch,” Allen explained, per Larry Brown Sports.
The Bills were the best team in the AFC East in 2021, finishing with an 11-6 record. However, it is quite clear there were some things they can do to elevate them further. For one, Josh Allen had a career-high 15 interceptions.
As Allen mentioned as well, the Bills were not a good team when it comes to YAC or “yards after catch” If the veteran QB can add that dynamic to his throwing, the Buffalo offense will be more difficult to stop.
Hopefully come 2022, all the work Allen and the Bills put in will show on the field and the NFL standings.
