The visitors’ excitement doubled when Wynand Wessels made it 2-0 in the 10th minute of play, chipping the ball over the goalkeeper from long range.
However, Muskegon responded, scoring its first goal of the night in the 17th minute and evening the game just before halftime. In the second half, Muskegon took the lead eight minutes after the break and added goals in the 60th and 65th minutes. Vitalis Takawira Jr. scored four of the five goals for the winners.
Muskegon will face Cleveland SC, a 2-0 winner over Med City FC, in the Midwest Region final on Sunday.
