American wildcard Coco Vandeweghe reached the final of the Thoreau Open by beating Chinese Qiang Wang 6-4, 6-3 at Thoreau Tennis club in Concord on Saturday evening.
Vandeweghe, ranked No 192, will play the winner of the match between qualifier Katrina Scott and second seed Bernarda Pera next.
Ahead of her victory, the American won against Alycia Parks (6-4, 6-4), German qualifier Eva Lys (6-1, 6-1) and Dane wildcard Clara Tauson (7-5, 3-6, 6-4).
Wang, ranked No 110, won against Georgian Mariam Bolkvadze (6-1, 6-2), Swiss Viktorija Golubic, the No 5 seed (6-0, 0-6, 6-3) and Pole Magdalena Frech, the No 4 seed (6-2, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
