Paul Gallen and Justin Hodges had to be separated during a press conference ahead of the boxing double header on Thursday which also features Ben Hannant.
The obligatory shoving match ahead of the fight was sparked by comments made by Hodges on Monday, who branded Gallen the “worst Origin captain in history”.
Gallen mentioned the comments on stage before calling on the former Maroons star to run at him, leading to the pair being separated by No Limit’s Matt Rose.

Hodges walked off stage and called Gallen a “f—–g bum”.
Gallen responded: “I’m going to make you look like a bum on Thursday.
“You hear that ambulance that was here? It’s come a couple of days early.
“It’s meant to come on Thursday. You’ll be going home in it. Make sure you kiss your kids goodnight before you go to the boxing fight. Hopefully you wake up.”
Gallen also had a fiery exchange with Hannant, saying he could “seriously kill” the former Maroons forward in the ring and claimed the Queenslander was a benchwarmer throughout his career.
“That shows the flog he is at times,” Hannant said.
“He doesn’t get it. I’m proud of my career. It’s about putting the team first.
“It’s not about how good you are or how many games you start, you start sounding like a flog.”
Gallen said Hannant should never draw comparisons with team sports and individual sports like boxing.
“You sound like a flog, you’re talking about a team sport, you’re talking about being a good team in an individual sport, you idiot,” Gallen said.
“You are an idiot. You fought Hodgo and that’s it.
“You think you’re gonna walk in and even compete? I could seriously kill you on Thursday night.”
