Rukshika Wijesuriya continued with her outstanding form as she completed a fine double at the 107th National Tennis Championships, continued at the SLTA Clay Courts in Green Path yesterday.
Having won the Women’s Singles crown on the previous day, Rukshika joined her partner Anjalika and went on to beat the pair of Neyara Weerawansa and Janali Manamperi 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 in the Women’s Doubles final encounter. This was also a consolation win for Anjalika, who had surrendered her Women’s National title to Rukshika on the previous day by conceding the
Singles final 6-1, 6-7, 6-2. Meanwhile, Yashitha de Silva and Dilvan Herath had little difficulties in winning the Men’s Doubles title as they outplayed the combination of Chathurya Nilaweera and Thehan Wijemanne in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.
