You can glow golf for a good cause Friday night in Houghton Lake.
It’s at the Highland Golf Course and it is the second annual fundraiser to raise money for student scholarships. It’s done in memory of Houghton Lake local Ava Gafford, who passed away from a form of bone cancer.
The coordinator of the event says this is just one way they can honor the memory of Ava.
“Just to keep the scholarship in her memory, keep it alive is what it does,” Jeromy Werra, Event Coordinator, says. “If we continue to pump money into the foundation, that will continue to keep the scholarship going. It’s a good time. Everybody loves it, you know playing golf at night. You know, it’ll have 80 golfers here tonight that’ll be golfing with us.”
They plan to tee off as soon as the sun goes down.
