MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women’s golf team will head to Jonesboro, Ark. to compete in the Lady Red Wolves Classic this week. The two-day tournament begins on Monday, Oct. 10 and runs through Tuesday, Oct. 11. Live scoring for the event can be found at GoTigersGo.com.
“The team has been working hard these last couple of weeks,” head coach Jennifer Jordan remarked. “They are determined to keep this momentum going. I believe a win is in their future. Should be an exciting tournament.”
The 54-hole tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,164-yard Sage Meadows Golf Club. Teams will play two rounds on Monday before the third and final round on Tuesday.
The 15-team field includes Memphis, Arkansas State, Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Houston Christian, North Alabama, Omaha, Samford, Southern Miss, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Troy and ULM.
Last time out, freshman Tilly Garfoot led the Tigers at the Lady Paladin Invitational, finishing eighth with a score of 215 (-1). As a team, Memphis tied for third overall with a total of 881 (+17).
