A fundraising golf tournament will be held Friday in memory of Scott Taskey, who died Jan. 1. He was an avid golfer and senior vice president of Century 21 Breeden Realtors, which has organized the event that will begin with a celebration of life gathering at 10 a.m. at Otter Creek Country Club, 11522 E. County Road 50N in Columbus.
Proceeds will will benefit the local C4 high school program that Taskey was passionate about for years. He was president of the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. C4 Building Trades board of directors from 1995 to 2021. Organizers have a goal of $25,000 for the cause, according to Michelle Carter, one of the event volunteers and an administrative assistant at Breeden.
Tee time for the team-oriented tournament is noon at Otter Creek. Organizers still could use a few more volunteers to help with distributing drinks, lunches, help with a silent auction, a 50-50 raffle and more. Volunteers can call 812-372-3766.
A variety of businesses have donated food and other items to make the event a success.
The Scott Taskey Memorial C4 Fund is administrated by the Heritage Fund of Bartholomew County. Those who cannot attend the event may make donations to the cause at taskeygolf.com
