The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are losing one of their veteran defenders for the foreseeable future.
Defensive back Logan Ryan is set to undergo surgery to repair a fractured foot, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Ryan has already missed multiple games with the injury, and now he’ll go on injured reserve with the hopes of perhaps returning later in the season.
A versatile defender who played with the New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans and New York Giants before signing a one-year deal with the Bucs in free agency this offseason, Ryan’s departure will put even more pressure on Tampa Bay’s secondary, which has been banged up at both levels to start the 2022 season.
