The Township of Laurentian Valley recently held a grand reopening for the resurfaced tennis court at Pleasant View Park located at 90 Spruce Street West in the township.

On Oct. 14 the official ribbon cutting was held to celebrate the occasion. The tennis court’s surface has been upgraded with a multi-game court surface.
Laurentian Valley Mayor Steve Bennett, Councillor Chris Pleau, chairwoman of Pleasant View Park Committee Benita Richardson, and volunteers Audrey Oickle and Griffin Richardson came together to mark the opening and they invite the community to utilize the exciting new feature.
The tennis court has been resurfaced with premium modular sport flooring, offering the ability to play additoinal sports on top of tennis including pickle ball, volleyball and basketball. The multi sport court at Pleasant View Park is free to use at anyone’s leasure with one’s own equipment. Basketball nets will be installed in the summer of 2023.
“The park is looking wonderful, and I am very happy with how Pleasant View Park has developed over the years,” Richardson said.
Pleasant View Park is mainteaned by the volunteers of the Pleasant View Park Committee. In fact each park and recreation centre in Laurentian Valley is run by a team of devoted volunteers.
Laurentian Valley’s planning and recreation coordinator Navada Sargent thanks all of the volunteers who dedicate their time to Laurentian Valley recreation.
