ANNAPOLIS, Md. – With a hike up to Bethlehem, Pa., the Navy women’s golf team will close out its fall schedule on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 24-25 at the Lehigh Invitational, playing on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club.
Hosted by Patriot League rival Lehigh, the two-day, 36-hole tournament has tee times starting at 9 a.m. both days on the par-72, 6,012-yard course. The Grace Course at SVCC has been the home to the Patriot League Championship in 2014, 2017 and 2021.

The Mountain Hawks and Midshipmen will be joined by UAlbany, Fairfield, Fairleigh Dickinson, fellow Patriot League member Holy Cross, Howard, La Salle, LIU, Merrimack, Monmouth, Niagara, Quinnipiac, Saint Francis (Pa.), St. John’s and Wagner.

Last Time Out
Sophomore golfer Bridget Hoang put together a record-setting finish as the individual runner-up last weekend, while Navy was able to hold onto sixth place in the University of Delaware’s ninth annual Battle at the Beach, held at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club … Hoang broke the program record for a 54-hole tournament score by shooting a 1-under par 215 over three rounds on the 6169-yard course, competing separately from the Midshipmen lineup … The rest of the Navy team combined to shoot a 53-over par 917 and tie Quinnipiac for sixth place on the 12-team leaderboard … Senior captain Eve Worden was the best finisher out of Navy’s starting five, tying for 24th at 12-over par 228, while junior Mara Hirtle earned a tie for 31st place at 14-over par 230 and freshman Sue Lue was right behind Hirtle at 15-over par 231, placing in a tie for 33rd … Finishing tied for 45th, junior Stephanie Lee shot an 18-over par 234 and sophomore Jenna Han closed out the tournament with a 20-over par 236 that earned her a four-way tie for 51st.
Hoang Named PL Golfer of the Week
The record-breaking performance by Hoang earned her Patriot League Women’s Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, giving Hoang the first weekly honor of her collegiate career and handing the Midshipmen the award for the third-straight week … Hirtle and Steph Lee were named Co-Golfers of the Week on Oct. 5 while Hirtle earned sole possession of the weekly award on Oct. 12 … Hoang’s overall score of 1-under par 215 is the lowest 54-hole score by a Navy player since Shannon Gould shot 7-over par 217 at the par-70 Bucknell Invitational in 2019 … The next lowest 54-hole, par-72 score by a Mid after Hoang was by Hirtle at last season’s Bucknell Invitational, where Hirtle shot a 2-over par 218.
Navy at Lehigh Invitational/Saucon Valley CC
Attending the fall tournament in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2021, last year’s rain-shortened Lehigh Invitational featured the Mids finishing second at 24-over par 312 and Hirtle placing third at 4-over par 76, with the second round being canceled due to inclement weather … Steph Lee followed at 5-over par 77 and tied for fourth, while Worden and Han tied for 39th with a 13-over par 85 … Competing as an individual, Hoang finished tied for 35th after posting a 12-over par 84 … The Grace Course was also home to the 2021 Patriot League Championship, where Navy captured its first league title in program history and earned a berth to the 2021 NCAA Regionals … The 2021 PL Championship had the Mids outlast Boston University and finish first at 57-over par 921, with Hirtle, Steph Lee and Angelina Chan all earning first-team all-league honors by tying for fourth at 14-over 230, just three shots off the lead … head coach Nadia Ste-Marie was named the Patriot League Coach of the Year after leading her squad to the title.
