The Duck Creek golf course in Garland will be closed at least through Saturday after a fire tore through the clubhouse.
The fire was reported about 3:00 this morning. And with a building that was made of wood, it didn’t take long to become engulfed in flames. The cause is under investigation.
“Shortly after fire crews arrived on scene there was a loud boom that could be heard and or felt locally. Not sure at this time what it was,” said James Dugger, Garland Fire Marshal. “Hopefully the investigation will reveal that. But it does appear that was a result of the fire and not the cause of the fire
Duck Creek General Manager Kevin Herod says the course for at least three days while they develop a plan for reopening.
