Filip Hronek and the Detroit Red Wings just keep on rolling.
Hronek had a power-play goal and an assist for his third straight multi-point game, while captain Dylan Larkin scored the shootout winner to lift the Red Wings over the Arizona Coyotes, 4-3, on Friday night at Little Caesars Arena.
“I think we [defensemen] are playing better,” said Hronek, who extended his point streak to six games and goal streak to four. “Forwards are using us, so that’s why we are getting chances and playing good all around.”
Andrew Copp opened the scoring on the power play in the first period, then Hronek doubled Detroit’s lead early in the second. After Jordan Oesterle put the Red Wings ahead, 3-1, halfway through the middle frame, the Coyotes scored twice before regulation ended to force overtime.
Larkin netted the lone shootout goal for Detroit (11-5-4; 26 points), which extended its winning streak to a season-high four straight games. Arizona fell to 7-9-3 overall this season.
Red Wings goalie Ville Husso made 21 saves in his fifth straight start, while Lucas Raymond and Tyler Bertuzzi each had two assists.
“We talk about judging ourselves on process,” head coach Derek Lalonde said. “We were good today. That was a really good game for us against a pretty good team.”
Michael Rasmussen, who skated in his 200th career NHL game on Friday, logged 17:42 of ice time. The contest was also Red Wings assistant coach Jay Varaday’s first against his former club this season, having spent the past four campaigns as a coach in the Coyotes organization.
As part of Hockey Fights Cancer night, Red Wings players proudly wore lavender jerseys and lavender-taped sticks during pregame warmups, which are autographed and available for auction until Friday, Dec. 2 at DetroitRedWings.com/Auction. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society and Detroit Red Wings Foundation.
NEXT UP: Detroit will continue its five-game homestand on Monday night, hosting the rival Toronto Maple Leafs at Little Caesars Arena.

QUOTABLE
Lalonde on playing physical against Arizona
“They’re built a lot different than we are. They have a lot of toughness and some high, elite skill. There’s gonna be games like this. We’re not built like that, but we need to push back.”
Raymond on Hronek’s impressive offensive stretch
“It’s like everything he shoots is going in. Everyone knows he has a great shot. He’s been getting it off now, and everyone’s seeing it now. I feel like we’ve seen it for a long time. We see it every time we practice, so it’s fun.”
Hronek on why Detroit has been able to string together wins
“I think the biggest thing is we’re playing for each other and it’s paying off. We’re scoring, so everything is good. Husso is playing well, so everything is working now.”
