The Sixers are struggling nine overs into their batting innings chasing 184, sitting 3/55 after nine overs after Strikers speedster Henry Thornton ran riot.
Thornton dismissed both Kurtis Patterson and James Vince within three balls to decimate Sydney’s top order.
Superstar Rashid Khan then secured the prized wicket of Josh Phillipe with Moises Henriques and Jordan Silk currently at the crease.

Earlier, Strikers gun Matt Short has delivered with the bat, belting 84 off only 53 balls at the top of the innings.
The 27-year-old held Adelaide’s innings together as Chris Lynn (41) also delivered in his first game for his new franchise as the Strikers finished with 6/184.
Lynn was welcomed to the crease with a trumpet playing from the roof of the Adelaide Oval after opening batsmen Jake Weatherald scooped a Steve O’Keefe delivery to point, departing for only one run off three balls.
That wicket introduced Lynn to the game “earlier than he’d like” according to Fox Cricket’s Adam Gilchrist — and even he was stunned by the trumpeter.
“What an entrance,” Gilchrist said in shock.
Short dominated the bowling of Ben Dwarshius, taking his for 30 runs off his first two overs before belting Hayden Kerr and Sean Abbott in the power surge.
Dwarshius finished his four overs, going for 51 runs without a wicket.
Draft picks Adam Hose and Colin de Grandhomme then came to the crease and had the task of finishing the innings for their team.
Hose, who starred in England’s T20 competition, smashed 40 off 22 balls while Kiwi de Grandhomme hit a six off his third ball to finish with seven runs.
