New for 2023, six oval tracks will have a rain tire option
NASCAR has released the rules packages for 2023. It shows what packages will be raced on a track to track basis.
See the 2023 NASCAR rules packages below.
Last year, NASCAR hosted a rain tire test at Martinsville Speedway. They sprayed the track with water, bolted on the rain tires and now they’re ready to put it into the product.
For 2023, six oval tracks will have a wet tire option. If it rains, they’ll bolt on the rain tires and keep racing.
Oval Rain Racing: LA Coliseum, Martinsville Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway, North Wilkesboro Speedway, Phoenix Raceway and Richmond Raceway
The short track aero rules might change ahead of the 2023 season. NASCAR has a test scheduled for the first part of 2023. They’ll run various packages in an attempt to reduce dirty air, for short tracks.
