Adelphi Portrush Hotel will become the sixth site in the real estate investor’s Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts brand, a collection of bespoke hotels located in premier golf destinations.
The hotel can be used by golfers visiting Royal Portrush Golf Club and is positioned one hour from Belfast.
Comprehensive renovations
The property will continue to operate as Adelphi Portrush Hotel in its current condition until autumn 2023, at which time comprehensive guestroom and common space renovations will begin. The hotel is expected to relaunch as part of the Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts collection in late 2024.
Designed by AJ Capital Partners’ in-house design team, the décor throughout the forthcoming reimagined property will embrace influences from the UK region, while paying tribute to the golf prestige and history synonymous with the island of Ireland. This is planned to involve warm, rich fabrics complemented with textural layering that embodies the spirit of the nearby coast.
Community gem
Phillip Allen, president, Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Adelphi Portrush Hotel to the Marine & Lawn collection. The hotel is a fantastic addition to the portfolio, offering travellers premier access to world class golf courses and Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most stunning geological features on earth.
“The property is a true community gem and will continue to offer both locals and visitors an authentic experience that pays homage to the rich history and rugged beauty of County Antrim and the Causeway Coast. We’re honoured to continue to grow our presence in Northern Ireland and thrilled that we’ll have a fully renovated Adelphi Portrush Hotel to showcase when the world of golf once again turns its eyes on Portrush for the 2025 Open Championship.”
Golfing collection
The Marine & Lawn collection comprises Rusacks St Andrews in St Andrews, Scotland; Marine North Berwick in North Berwick, Scotland; Marine Troon in Troon, Scotland; Slieve Donard in Newcastle, County Down in Northern Ireland; and Dornoch Station Hotel in Dornoch, Scotland.
Slieve Donard is currently undergoing refurbishment itself, with the project at the 181-key hotel scheduled to complete in March 2023.
