Jake Paul favourite in overdue clash
YouTube boxer 8/11 to beat Tommy Fury
Jake Paul (6-0, 4KO) is odds-on with William Hill to better Tommy Fury (8-0, 4KO) in the pair’s overdue bad blood bout.
After two years of build-up and delays, YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul is 8/11 favourite to beat Tommy Fury in the highly anticipated fight, which is now locked in for February 25th in Saudi Arabia.
Half-brother to Tyson Fury, undefeated professional boxer Tommy Fury is 5/4 to get the better of the American.
Boxing expert Gareth A Davies, said: “The on/off affair of Jake Paul against the Furies… I think it’s a big event. Massive jeopardy for Jake Paul and Tommy Fury. I’m going Tommy Fury on points.”
William Hill Spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “This will be Jake Paul’s first real test in the form of a professional boxer, but we see the social media star having the slight edge at 8/11.
“It’s hard to discount Tommy Fury at 5/4, especially given his undefeated record, and with half of Fury’s wins coming by knockout, it’s sure to be an entertaining fight.”
William Hill – Boxing
Jake Paul: 8/11
Tommy Fury: 5/4
Draw: 9/1
BBN Editor, Tim Rickson, added: “Neither one of these are spectacular boxers, but it’s guaranteed to be a huge event due to their combined audiences and followings they have built up outside of boxing. Jake Paul hasn’t fought a single boxer yet and has strategically managed to build up a rivalry with one our worst light-heavyweights we’ve got, making this a 50-50 fight. I believe it will be close, the odds for a draw are 9/1, which I don’t think I’ve ever seen so low before. They are evenly matched, but Paul seems to be the heavier handed, more aggressive, which I think will give him the edge.”
