KENNESAW, Ga. – A dominant showing from the Kennesaw State women’s golf team on Monday has the squad atop the leaderboard at the Pinetree Women’s Collegiate after 36 holes.
Scores for the Black and Gold tallied up to 11-over 587 through the two rounds, including a tournament-low 3-over 291 on the final 18.
The Owls close out day one with a 13-stroke lead on second-place Xavier. KSU has an 18-stroke lead on Golfstat’s No. 58 East Tennessee State.
LEADING THE PARLIAMENT:
Bella Kil led the team and the field Monday with back-to-back rounds of 2-under 70 for a 4-under 140 total.
Kil leads all participants in pars with 28. She is tied for third in par-5 scoring with a 4.63 average.
SCORECARD:
Tori Owens crushed the first two rounds with a 1-under 143 for the first day, headlined by a 2-under 70 showing in the second round.
Participating as an individual, Owens is alone in fourth place and has an eight-stroke lead on the next-closest individual participant. She is also tied with Kil in par-5 scoring with an average of 4.63.
Alizee Vidal was second on the team with a 2-over 146 including a 3-under 69 in the second round. She enters round three in eighth.
Meva Schmit stands tied for 17th with an 8-over 152 score. She carded a 2-over 74 on the first 18 holes.
After a 9-over 153 score through the first two rounds, Cameron Neilson is tied for 24th on the day.
Lara Jecnik finished right behind Neilson with a 10-over 154 and tied for 28th.
2022 Rio Verde Invitational individual medalist Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman is tied for 38th with a 12-over 156 scorecard.
GOLF CART NOTES:
>> KSU was the only team in the tournament to not have a player post a single-round score of 80 or higher.
>> The Owls lead the field in par-4 (4.21 average) and par-5 (4.85 average) scoring.
>> The team is tied for the tournament lead with 26 birdies through the first 18 holes and second with 113 pars.
THORNE’S THOUGHTS:
“I’m proud of how the team did today,” head coach Erin Thorne said. “We are in a really good position heading into the third round tomorrow.”

The Owls look to finish off the Pinetree Women’s Collegiate with a victory Tuesday, March 22 in round three action.
