If Antonio Brown’s NFL career is done, it will go down as one of the best that a wide receiver has had in recent memory. His insane fall-out with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have been the reason why he never plays in the league again. For someone of his talents, it’s a testament to how little NFL teams are ready to put up with the current free agent.
For a stretch of around five years, Brown staked a claim as the best player at his position. When the question was posed on Twitter on whether Brown was a top 10 wide receiver in NFL history, he had a blunt, one-word response.

Brown’s body of work certainly shows that he is worthy of being considered a top 10 wideout. He ranks fifth in career receiving yards per game, 21st all-time in NFL history in receptions and 24th in both receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Not even cracking the top 20 in any of the three major categories.
Through a player’s first 10 seasons, Browns ranks sixth in receptions (while playing the fewest game of anyone in the top 15) and ninth in receiving yards. This is especially impressive considering Brown barely played as a rookie, appearing in just nine games. In his 10th season, he appeared in just one game. On the leaderboards for both most receiving yards in a single season and most receptions in a single season, Brown makes two appearances.
Even at age 33, he is a productive player. He would be a strong on-field addition to any NFL team as a free agent but his many off-field issues overshadow it.
