RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond men’s tennis team picked up its second straight win Wednesday afternoon by defeating in-state foe Longwood 5-2 at the Westhampton Tennis Courts. The Spiders improve to 10-8 this season with the win.
Richmond quickly claimed the doubles point, winning on courts one and three to clinch. In singles action, freshman Eli Gordon made his Richmond debut and won 6-1, 6-4 on court six. Richmond also won in straight sets on courts one, two, and five to secure the match.
The Spiders head to Davidson, N.C. this weekend for a pair of A-10 matchups. Richmond will face Dayton Saturday, April 9, followed by host Davidson Sunday, April 10.
