Ja Morant is just 22 years old, while Anthony Edwards in 20. However, they are certainly wise and way better beyond your normal 20-year-olds, and that showed on Saturday.
Unfortunately for Morant and his Grizzlies, they lost to Edwards and the Timberwolves 130-117. Ant Man top-scored for his team, with Karl-Anthony Towns chipping in a monster double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds to secure the win.
As for the Grizzlies, only Dillon Brooks scored more than 20 with 24. They struggled shooting from deep, making just seven of their 27 attempts from the 3-point territory.
Hopefully, things will be better for the Grizzlies come Game 2. After all, who doesn’t want to see the Morant-Edwards battle last seven games and let the series be decided in a do-or-die battle?
