BUFFALO LAKE — The Wabasso boys and girls golf teams competed in the Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Invite on Wednesday, with the boys team taking sixth with a team score of 399 and the girls team recording an incomplete team score. On the boys side, Sleepy Eye United took first with a 338, followed by New Ulm Cathedral in second (358) and Springfield in third (365). On the girls side, Cedar Mountain took first with a 437, followed by Sleepy Eye United in second (477) and Minnesota Valley Lutheran in third (495).
On the boys side, for Wabasso, Jayden Goblish had a 92 while Alex Alvarez had a 96, Michael Rothmeier had a 105, Wyatt Soupir had a 106, Aidan Lanoue had a 115 and Jamison Rohlik had a 124.
On the girls side, for Wabasso, Chloe Rohlik had a 119 while Jasmine Kuehn had a 120 and Shayna Huhnerkoch had a 141.
Wabasso will compete next on Tuesday at home at 4 p.m.

DAWSON — The Dawson-Boyd baseball team defeated Canby 12-9 on Tuesday.
Aiden Swenson led DB with three hits and three RBIs while Braxton Hahn added three hits and an RBI and Blake Thompson had two hits and an RBI. Braxton Hahn earned the start, going 1 2/3 innings while allowing nine runs on 10 hits and struck out two while Tygan Long earned the win in relief, going 5 1/3 innings while allowing no runs on four hits and struck out six.
Easton Antony led Canby with three hits and two RBIs while Tyler Hiedeman added two hits and three RBIs and Evan Engesmoe, Liam MacArthur and Otto Sik each had two hits and an RBI. Antony earned the start on the mound, going 3 2/3 innings while allowing nine runs on eight hits and struck out four while Sawyer Drietz took the loss in relief, going 2 1/3 innings while allowing three runs on four hits and struck out two.
DB (3-1) will face RCW on the road today at 4:30 p.m. while Canby (0-5) will face LQPV on the road today at 5 p.m.

Cole VanDeWiele led RRC/WWG with two hits and two RBIs while Quintyn Vold added a hit and three RBIs. Isaac Simonson earned the start, going three innings while allowing five runs on three hits and struck out seven. Ashton Juhnke earned the win in relief, going two innings while allowing no runs on one hit and struck out one.
RRC/WWG (5-2) will face Edgerton/SWC at home today at 4:30 p.m.

RENVILLE — The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton softball team defeated Renville County West 15-3 and 14-4 in six innings in doubleheader action on Tuesday. The Jaguars had the same amount of errors as hits (6). In game one, TMB’s Amber Hensch led the way with two hits and drove in four RBIs. Her teammates Grace Dolan and Kamryn Peterson also had two hits in the ballgame.
In game two, Peterson led the Panthers with a game-high four hits and an RBI. Teammates Margaret Dolan and Hailey Gernentz also had two RBIs each as well in the victory.
TMB will host Russell-Tyler-Ruthton today at 4:30 p.m. in doubleheader action.

MADISON — The Lakeview softball team dropped a pair of games against Lac qui Parle Valley on Tuesday, falling in Game 1 16-0 in three innings and 16-3 in five innings in Game 2.
In Game 1, Teagan Fiene threw two innings while Kiara Hinz tossed an inning. No other stats were available at press time.
In Game 2, Kiara Hinz led Lakeview with two hits and two RBIs. Fiene threw four innings in the circle.
Lakeview (0-7) will face DB at home today at 4:30 p.m.

DAWSON — The Dawson-Boyd softball team split its doubleheader against Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg by winning game one 6-5 and falling in game two 11-4 on Tuesday.
DB had four players with two hits each in the first game: Alicia Haas, Alli Estling, Hayley Anderson and Maddie Peterson, who also homered in game one victory. Haas pitched a complete game, giving up five runs and striking out six.
In game two, Anderson again would have a team-high two hits in the ballgame. However, DB walked eight batters, using three pitchers in the loss.
Dawson-Boyd will travel next to Cottonwood today to face off against the Lakeview Lakers in doubleheader action at 4:30/6:30 p.m.
