    Sixty minutes isn’t enough in Tampa Bay, as the Leafs and Lightning are headed to overtime in game 6. 

    Nikita Kucherov ripped a shot by Jack Campbell on a 5 on 3 to tie the game at 3-3 in the third period. Tampa Bay was able to tie it after giving up two goals in the final minute of the second period. 

    Tampa Bay is trying to save off elimination as they are down 3-2 in the series. Toronto is eyeing their first playoff series win since 2004.

    Overtime

    10:33 p.m. ET: Another huge stop by Vasilevskiy. Ross Colton turns the puck over at his own goal line, resulting in a point-blank shot by Mikheyev, but it’s saved with the glove. 

    10:31 p.m. ET: The first big stop of OT goes to Vasilevskiy. Maple Leafs on a 3 on 2, Tavares sends Kerfoot in all alone behind the defense, but the Tampa Bay goalie keeps the puck out. Kerfoot could turned around a bit and couldn’t get a great shot off. 

    10:30 p.m. ET: Overtime is on. Here we go. 

    3rd period: Maple Leafs 3, Lightning 3

    10:14 p.m.: To overtime we go. 60 minutes isn’t enough as the game is tied 3-3. Kucherov’s goal was the long tally of the third. 

    10:08 p.m.: Hagel had a WIDE open net but missed it. Goes right through the crease and out the other side. Possibly blocked by T.J. Brodie. Nick Paul fed him back door where he was standing all alone. 

    10:02 p.m.: Maple Leafs finally get the momentum back on their side. Two great saves by Vasilevskiy on Tavares and then Kerfoot off a rebound. 

    9:55 p.m.: Back to even strength but it’s all Lightning right now. Able to tie the game and have been controlling everything in the third. 

    9:52 p.m.: GOAL! Nikita Kucherov rips one by Campbell to tie the game. Tampa Bay capitalizes on the 5 on 3. The Lightning had to take advantage and are still on the power play for another 58 seconds. 

    9:50 p.m.: Uh oh. Another high-sticking call for the Maple Leafs as Kerfoot gets his stick up high on Hedman. 5 on 3 for the Lightning for 1:45. Sheldon Keefe is livid. 

    9:49 p.m.: Lightning to the power play. Kampf off for high-sticking Cal Foote. Huge moment in the third. 

    9:48 p.m.: The push from the Lightning is here. Dominating play so far in the third, but the Campbell has been excellent, especially when it comes to limiting second-chance opportunities. 

    9:43 p.m.: Huge stop by Campbell. Nick Paul dishes to Brandon Hagel in front of the net, Hagel and Maple Leafs defender crash into the net, but Campbell keeps the puck out regardless. Tampa Bay controlling play early and throwing everything at the Toronto keeper. 

    9:36 p.m.: Final 20 minutes is underway. Lightning trying to stave off elimination. 

    2nd period: Maple Leafs 3, Lightning 2

    9:17 p.m.: Just like that the Maple Leafs have the lead heading into the third. They’ve been the better team in the third period this series and have all the momentum going into the intermission. Quiet building in Tampa. 

    9:16 p.m.: GOAL! Wow. John Tavares gets this one with 16 seconds left. Play starts in their own zone but are able to get up into the o-zone. William Nylander drives towards the net and finds Tavares alone near the slot for the goal. 26 seconds after the Spezza goal.

    9:13 p.m.: GOAL! The Leafs tie the game up with 34 seconds left in the second. A shot by John Tavares hits Vasilevskiy and goes up. As Vasilevskiy is trying to bat the puck away, Jason Spezza gets a piece of it and it bounces into the net. Huge goal for the Leafs who have been the better third period team in this series. 

    9:11 p.m.: Chances on both ends. Mikheyev gets in alone, but with only one hand on his stick, makes it easy for Vasilevskiy. Then on the other end, a Stamkos shot bounces around in front, but nothing getting past Campbell. 

    9:07 p.m.: After the Lightning were controlling play for a bit, Leafs get a 2 on 1. Alexander Kerfoot tries to beat Vasilevskiy under his arm, but the Lightning goaltender swallows it up. 

    8:58 p.m.: GOAL! Auston Matthews gets the Maple Leafs on the board. Right off an offensive zone faceoff, Giordano fires a shot on net and Matthews deflects the puck by Vasilevskiy with a sensational tip. 2-1 Lightning lead is cut in half just 54 seconds after Cirelli’s tally. 

    8:57 p.m.: In the dying moments of the power play, Kampf gets a chance on the door step, but Vasilevskiy comes up big yet again. 8:25 left in the second. 

    8:54 p.m.: GOAL! What a power move by Anthony Cirelli shorthanded. Steals the puck in the neutral zone, spins off Giordano and fires it past Campbell. Horrible power play effort from the Maple Leafs and it’s 2-0 Lightning. 

    8:51 p.m.: Lightning’s Cal Foote off for hooking. Bad play by Brandon Hagel who dropped the puck back below the goal line to no one, resulting in Foote hooking Ilya Mikheyev

    8:49 p.m.: Couple more big stops by Campbell, including turning aside a one-timer from the point by Zach Bogosian. Great shift by Kucherov creates two chances, including a backhand that misses over the bar. 

    8:44 p.m.: Timely stops by both Campbell and Vasilevskiy. A Mark Giordano bounces in and Vasilevskiy is able to deflect it away. On the other end, Campbell handles a shot through traffic by Ryan McDonagh

    8:37 p.m.: Nothing going for the Lightning on the power play. Sloppy passing handicapped their ability to set up anything offensively. 

    8:35 p.m.: Second period is underway. 

    End 1st period: Lightning 1, Maple Leafs 0

    8:17 p.m.: Lightning lead after the first 20 minutes. Lots of physical play on both sides, but clean. Tampa began to take over towards the last five minutes, taking advantage of a bad turnover which led to the Palat goal and will start the 2nd period on the power play. 

    8:15 p.m.: Scramble in front of the Leafs’ net with around30 seconds left, but Campbell comes up with a couple big saves. However, Morgan Reilly to the box for tripping, Lightning get the first power play of the night. 

    8:11 p.m.: GOAL! Ondrej Palat takes advantage of a neutral zone turnover by the Leafs, comes in on the right side and beats Campbell clean under the blocker. 1-0 Tampa with 2:22 left in the 1st. Alexander Kerfoot dropped the pass to no one in the neutral zone, which led to Palat coming in uncontested. 

    8:09 p.m.: First penalties of the night. Justin Holl off for interference, but Nick Paul also called for embellishment. Questionable call on Paul, play is 4 on 4. 

    8:01 p.m.: Set play by the Lightning off a faceoff results in a Nikita Kucherov shot from the slot, but turned away by Campbell. Still 0-0 with less than 8 minutes to go. 

    7:55 p.m.: Best chance of the period so far, David Kampf left alone in the front for the Maple Leafs. Pierre Engvall finds him for a one-timer, but the shot goes off the foot of Brayden Point and out of play. 

    7:48 p.m.: Fast pace to the first period, both teams going back and forth. Clean, physical play, but no dangerous scoring chances yet. Just one whistle so far more than seven minutes in. 

    7:41 p.m.: Puck is down, Game 6 is underway!

    Pregame

    7:20 p.m.: The Leafs are starting their top line of Auston Matthews-Mitch Marner-Michael Bunting with Jake Muzzin and T.J. Brodie on the blue line. 

    The Lightning will start with Anthony Cirelli-Alex Killorn-Brayden Point with Victor Hedman and Erik Cernak on defense. 

    Jack Campbell is in net for Toronto and Andrei Vasilevskiy is in the Tampa crease.
