French middleweight Anderson Prestot (25-2) won the EBU title with a technical decision over 43-year old Italian Matteo Signani (31-6-3) in the headliner of EuroProm’s show in Massy, France, June 24.
Presto was badly cut over the left eye in the fourth round and it was ruled it had been caused by an accidental clash of heads. Signani, who must have sensed he was behind on points after a slow start, went all out to try and finish it but Prestot fired back and caught the champion with a good right uppercut and seemed to win the fourth round as well. When the bell rang for the fifth a time out was called and the ringside physician had a long, hard look at Prestot’s cut and told the referee to stop it and it went to the scorecards – and Prestot was declared the winner but the numbers were only announced in French.
The new champion has Felix Cash as mandatory challenger.
In the chief support – that went ahead after the main event – French super welterweight Milan Prat (16-0-0-1) stopped brave but outgunned Belgian Amaury Massenaux (10-1-1) in the seventh and won the vacant EU title. Massenaux took a lot of hard punches clean – Prat was especially effective with his right uppercut – but refused to go down and kept fighting until the seventh when he suddenly fell apart under the pressure and the towel came in at the right time.
Earlier tonight (June 24) Polish cruiserweight Michal Cieslak (22-2) stopped German boxer Enrico Koelling (28-5) in the very first round of a scheduled ten rounder that headlined a Knockout Promotions show in KIelce.
Cieslak lost to the WBO champ Lawrence Okolie last time out while Koelling lasted into the 12th against the mighty Artur Beterbiev – but that was at light heavyweight.

The EBU have finally found a co-challenger to Umut Camkiran (15-0) for the vacant title and it’s Zhan Khossobutskiy (17-0) that has accepted the position as co-challenger.
EBU has set July 7 as the deadline for purse bids. Should this fight take place one thing is certain: it won’t go the distance.
The bull like Camkiran comes forward at all times while Kossobutkiy, who at times looks like he’s bored and about to go to sleep in the ring, is a big puncher.
